All about Ease of Access Setting in Windows 10. Ease of Access is an interesting setting option in windows 10 by which you can find a lot of important feature at one place and also set it as per your requirement. Vision

This section of settings having very important aspects of windows setting in each field where users can customize the size of the text and apps, adjust the screen brightness, change zoom level, use color filters, change cursor and pointer size, change touch feedback, and so on.

1.  Display

The first category under Vision option is Display. There are so many features under display option of Ease of Access setting in Windows 10. you can make the display on your PC easier to see by making the size of the text and apps bigger. You can adjust the brightness of your built-in display and use night light.

2.   Cursor & pointer

The second option under vision category is Cursor & Pointer. Through this setting , you will able to change the size and color of pointer. These settings make the cursor, pointer, and touch feedback easier to see.

  • Simply draw the slider as per your requirement.
  • You may change the pointer colour by selecting any one of the option shown in screenshot.

3.   Magnifier

The third option in ease of access setting under Vision option is Magnifier. It is also an important feature available in windows 10. Turning on the Magnifier settings lets you zoom in to the screen. Magnifier can run into full screen, in a separate window, or as a lens that follows your mouse pointer around the screen. Adjust zoom level and zoom increments as preferred.

Further, as you can see, you can select the check boxes where you wish to start magnifier after sign-in, before sign-in for everyone, smooth edges of images and text, invert colors, etc.

  • You can choose a Magnifier view to docked, full screen or lens.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + F to choose full screen view.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Spacebar to temporarily show the entire screen when zoomed in.
  • There are four option having magnifier view. These are Mouse cursor, keyboard focus, Text insertion point and Narrator cursor. You should make the boxes marked which you want to see magnifier view.

4.   Color filters

If you want to see photos and colors in easier view, turn on color filter. From the given options, you can select a color filter to see the elements on the screen better. Here you will also select a colour filter to see elements on the screen better. The various color such as inverted, grayscale, grayscale inverted, red-green and blue-yellow. You may choose as per your choice.

5.   High contrast

The high-contrast theme uses a more distinct and vibrant scheme of colors to make the apps and texts easier to see. If you wish to use it, simply turn ON toggle button under use High Contrast option.

You can choose a high contrast theme from the appearing menu and customize high contrast colors for text, hyperlinks, background, etc. Related settings include theme settings.

6.   Narrator

Narrator is the most important feature under Vision option in Ease of Access setting in windows 10. If you Turn on the Narrator, it describes and reads out everything on your screen. It can be controlled by mouse, touch, and keyboard.

Start-up options are also available in this feature that allow the shortcut key to start Narrator, show Narrator Home,  and more. Go through them and check the boxes as per your requirement.

It is also possible to change what you hear when reading and interaction on your screen. There are four options available here, you can choose as per your preference. Press the narrator key+ V to change how much detail narrator provides about text and controls.

Hearing

This section of settings allows the users to make their device easier to hear and easier to use without sound by displaying audio as text. There are two options available here. The first one is audio and another is Closed captions.

1.   Audio

The Audio tab under Hearing category in Ease of access setting in windows 10 consists of settings that make your device easier to hear or use without sound. You will find the settings here to change device volume, app volume, and other such sound settings. Audio alerts for notifications can be displayed visually. Mono audio provides combined left and right audio channels in one channel.

2.   Closed captions

Closed captions make your device easier to use without sound by displaying audio as text. Use the drop-down menus to change the caption color, caption transparency, caption style.

You may change Caption size and Caption effect through this setting. Further, select the required options from the drop-down menus to change caption background color, caption background transparency, window color, and window transparency.

Under Dim window content option, you will able to add a text background to improve contrast and make text easier to read. You may change window color and window transparency from the default option to as per requirement.

Interaction

Interaction is the third section of Ease of access setting in windows 10 which allows the users to improve the speech, use the on-screen keyboard keyboard, control the mouse, and more. There are three sub-section of this setting. These are speech, Keyboard, Mouse and Eye Control.

1.   Speech

If your device have limited reach or strength, Speech setting will help you to make your device easier.

Press Windows Logo key + H to start dictation to start dictation by turning on speech recognition. Turn on speech recognition, you needn’t typing, your speech or dictation will make function.

2.   Keyboard

If you have not support of physical keyboard, Ease of access setting in windows 10 provides a keyboard.

You should turn on On-screen keyboard.  In another way, press Windows Logo key + O to open the on-screen keyboard through ease of access setting in windows 10.

Use Sticky keys option by turning it On. Now you will able to press one key at a time for keyboard shortcut.

If you want to play a sound whenever you press Caps Lock, Num Lock or scroll Lock, Turn the Toggle keys On. You may avoid repeated keystrokes and change keyboard repeat rates by turning Filter keys On.

3.   Mouse

You can control the mouse pointer with the numeric keypad. Drag the respective sliders to adjust the Pointer speed and Pointer acceleration.

Eye Control permits you to use eye tracking technology to control the mouse, typing by On-screen keyboard and communicate with people using text-to-speech.
